Information
What happens at your appointment?
At your first appointment we will carry out a
short assessment, to check your well-being and to discuss your
current health and (if applicable) the progress of your pregnancy.
Your treatment will be carried out in a side-lying
or semi-reclined position. These are the safest and most comfortable
positions for pregnant and post-natal women. There will also be
pillows and wedges available for extra comfort. At no time will
you be massaged whilst lying on your back or your front whilst
pregnant.
Certain conditions do preclude the use of massage
during pregnancy, do inform me if you currently have or develop
any of the following conditions:
Pre-eclampsia, bloody discharge, gestational
diabetes, severe abdominal pain, placenta praevia, ruptured membranes,
history of miscarriage or pre-term (premature) labour, high blood
pressure, severe nausea, asthma.
